Engage Talent Partners are working with our client to recruit an Assistant Financial Accountant based in their Aberdeen office.

This role is a key part of the finance team and will support financial reporting, compliance, and operational accounting. You will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, assisting with budgeting and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of invoices within the ERP system.
- Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies, ensuring all transactions adhere to internal controls.
- Manage the processing of supplier and intercompany invoices, maintaining up-to-date financial records.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, including the review and resolution of outstanding goods/invoice balances.
- Prepare and process accruals and prepayments to ensure correct cost and revenue allocation.
- Support the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, providing variance analysis and insights.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain the integrity of the ERP system, clearing aged balances and performing regular system housekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with VAT returns, audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
The successful candidate will ideally hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; however, those with extensive relevant experience will also be considered. You will have experience working within a finance team, ideally in accounts payable, general ledger or financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy. Strong communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach are key to success in this role.
