ERP & Business Systems Specialist
Engage Talent Partners is supporting our client to recruit an ERP & Business Systems Specialist, based in Aberdeen.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation focused on continuous improvement, operational efficiency and maximising the value of its ERP and business systems. The successful candidate will act as a key internal owner of the ERP platform, supporting day-to-day administration, user support, system improvements and business change initiatives across multiple functions.
This position would suit someone with experience supporting, administering or developing ERP systems who enjoys combining technical problem solving with stakeholder engagement and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a key internal owner and administrator of the ERP platform, supporting business users across multiple departments.
- Support the ongoing development, optimisation and effective use of ERP and business systems.
- Manage user access, permissions and security roles, ensuring appropriate governance and system controls are maintained.
- Support system administration activities including troubleshooting application issues, investigating system errors, monitoring system performance and supporting upgrades.
- Create and maintain system reports, queries, dashboards and other user-facing system enhancements to support operational and reporting requirements.
- Investigate and troubleshoot system issues, scheduled jobs, integrations and application errors, working with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors where required.
- Support data migration, data quality initiatives and system improvement activities.
- Analyse workflows and support the implementation of process enhancements and system improvements.
- Gather and document business requirements, supporting solution design, testing, deployment and user adoption activities.
- Work closely with stakeholders across operations, procurement, finance, supply chain and other business functions to ensure systems effectively support business objectives.
- Provide user support, guidance and training, developing procedures and documentation where required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve system functionality, reporting and business processes.
The ideal candidate will have experience administering or supporting ERP or business systems and a track record of owning, maintaining and continuously improving enterprise applications. You will be comfortable engaging with stakeholders across multiple business functions and may come from a business systems, ERP, applications support, supply chain, procurement, finance or operations background.
Experience with SQL querying, ERP reporting tools, user access administration, data migration activities, application support, system troubleshooting, scheduled processes, system testing or small-scale system enhancements would be highly advantageous. Exposure to ERP platforms such as IFS, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Navision or similar systems will be considered.
Strong communication skills, analytical thinking and a proactive approach to problem solving are essential. You should be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and have the ability to translate business requirements into practical solutions whilst also supporting the day-to-day administration and effective operation of critical business systems.
