Engage Talent Partners are working exclusively with our client to source and recruit a Fire & Safety Engineer based in Aberdeen with offshore and onsite travel.
Our client operates in the oil and gas, nuclear and renewables sectors and you would be joining them during a very exciting time as their business experiences huge growth both in the UK and internationally.
You will work as part of the engineering team within the Safety Solutions division and the role as Fire & Safety Engineer will span the full project lifecycle from Design, procurement, manufacture, installation and commissioning with a focus on electrical control systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, engineering, and procurement for projects in your direct control
- Ensure all documents used during or resulting from projects are controlled in accordance with company quality procedures
- Fault investigation and rectification of client detection and alarm systems, control equipment, and associated electrical devices
- Document test results and produce fault reports
- Work with loop and schematic drawings, including producing as-built documentation
- Sign off equipment as being electrically and operationally complete
- Conduct site and offshore visits as required for project execution and delivery
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve, including at commissioning stage and factory acceptance tests
- Oversee and liaise with the workshop manager for assembly and testing of package and proprietary equipment
- Establish and maintain regular contact and good working relationships with clients, operating staff, and third parties
- Provide technical and commercial input to the preparation of proposals
- Act as the company’s representative at worksites including shipyards and construction sites across Europe, serving as the client-facing interface between engineering and the client
- Coordinate site installation and commissioning activities, including planning, execution, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with EN54 standards and their European equivalents throughout design, installation, and commissioning
- Maintain awareness of cybersecurity risks and apply best practices in system design, integration, and on-site activities
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Fire/Technical Safety/Loss Prevention role with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects. Experience with Fire Detection and Control Systems, including familiarity with EN54 and related European standards. You must also have a strong background in managing electrical installation and commissioning, familiar with cable installations, terminating and earthing.
