Engage Talent Partners are working on a retained search assignment to source and recruit a Global Business Development Manager for our client based in Aberdeen.
Our client operates in the subsea sector with a global reach and provide a range of services and equipment to support offshore operations. Reporting to the Operations Director (Board Member) you will be responsible for identifying and developing new revenue streams outside the company’s core business. The role is a senior management position and the primary objective is to grow company turnover whilst also increasing profitability by expanding sales into new market segments.
Key responsibilities:
- Systematically research and record the current status (principal players, contracting tiers, technical maturity and state of the art, incumbent competitors, commercial maturity / profitability, geographical hot spots etc).
- Produce and document a business plan and market entry strategy.
- Identify entry level resource and finance requirements.
- Identify potential strategic partnerships with the aim of accelerating the route to market.
- Document revenue and margin estimates and return on investment schedules.
- Conduct soundings of potential customers to evaluate the level of interest/commitment, price sensitivity, and alignment with strategic plans.
- Proactively drive the project forward, implementing and monitoring the business plan and adjusting as required.
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified with a proven track record around technical sales, identifying opportunities, planning the approach and driving the strategy and sales process. Our client is open to candidates who operate in either oil and gas (ideally Subsea or Wells), floating & fixed wind, tidal & wave energy, nuclear power or subsea security & defence.
