Engage Talent Partners are working with our Aberdeen based client to source an IT Manager to join their Aberdeen facility.
Our client is a leading provider within their field, delivering specialist services across the renewables, marine and oil & gas sectors. This is an exciting time to join the business as they continue to grow and expand.
In this role, you will report directly to the CFO and play a key part in ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable and scalable IT services across multiple sites. You will be responsible for coordinating IT operations, managing external partners and ensuring the organisation’s infrastructure, systems and security remain effective and fit for future growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Overseeing the management, improvement and upkeep of network infrastructure and cloud-based services to ensure business-critical systems remain available and resilient across multiple locations. Supporting standardisation of hardware, systems and connectivity across international sites.
- Managing data protection processes and supporting the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to reduce operational risks and ensure compliance across different regions.
- Taking ownership of IT budgets, supporting financial planning and identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency across software, hardware and licensing.
- Managing relationships with external IT suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring service levels are maintained through regular reviews and performance management.
- Ensuring effective IT support processes are in place across all levels, from user support through to technical escalation. Developing resources, documentation and training materials to improve user experience and support onboarding.
- Supporting IT governance by overseeing system changes, ensuring appropriate reviews, testing and approvals are completed before implementation.
- Maintaining a clear IT roadmap and infrastructure strategy to support future growth, including the integration of new sites, systems and acquisitions.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a similar IT role, with a strong background in managing IT services and infrastructure. They will have solid technical knowledge, particularly across cloud technologies, systems and modern IT environments. Experience working within an international or multi-site organisation, along with exposure to supplier management and budget ownership, would be highly advantageous. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-focused and comfortable taking ownership of the IT function, driving improvements and supporting future growth.
