Engage Talent Partners is supporting our client to recruit for a Manufacturing Support Engineer, based in Aberdeen. This is a rolling contract role, with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.
Our client is a highly innovative tech company who have recently commercialised their new, cutting-edge robotics portfolio. This is a unique opportunity that will offer variety, autonomy and challenge to the successful candidate.
This is a key role that supports the creative design team while ensuring products move smoothly from R&D into real-world production, acting as the bridge between mechanical design, manufacturing and operations. This is a hands-on, detail-focused opportunity for someone who understands how products move from prototype to build.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, update and maintain accurate 3D models and detailed 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings.
- Work closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams and service personnel as required.
- Ensure all general arrangements, BOMs and associated documentation are correct, current and properly maintained.
- Manage CAD files and PDM/Vault systems to ensure data is structured, version-controlled and easily accessible.
- Act as a key member of the design team, owning workflow, document control and supporting smooth progression of jobs from concept through to release.
- Identify and implement improvements to engineering processes, CAD standards and data management workflows.
- Provide hands-on support across design, assembly, installation and testing activities when needed.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or HND in mechanical, manufacturing or product engineering, with experience supporting both design and production teams. You will have acted as the link between R&D and manufacturing, taking ownership of drawings, documentation, CAD control, engineering change and release processes. A solid understanding of manufacturing principles is essential, along with experience working with suppliers, production and service teams. You should be confident managing PDM/Vault systems, maintaining BOMs, running ECNs and ensuring engineering data is accurate and controlled. Proficiency with Inventor or SolidWorks is important, and experience with basic analysis or validation work is a bonus.
If you are detail-focused, organised and naturally drawn to structure and process looking for a new challenge in an innovative company, please submit your CV for immediate review.
