Engage Talent Partners is exclusively supporting our client, a well-established manufacturing business, in the search for a Senior Analysis Engineer with strong OrcaFlex (or equivalent dynamic modelling) experience, based in Aberdeen.
Our client designs and delivers engineered products for use in demanding offshore environments across the Oil & Gas and Offshore Renewables sectors. This role offers the opportunity to take a leading technical position in the development of subsea and offshore hardware, where hydrodynamic and installation analysis directly informs product behaviour from early concept through detailed design, qualification and deployment.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will take ownership of dynamic analysis activities across multiple projects, developing and validating models of offshore systems such as cables, risers, moorings and protection structures. You will play a key role in shaping modelling approaches, supporting design decisions and mentoring less experienced engineers within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of hydrodynamic and installation analysis using OrcaFlex (or similar tools such as Flexcom, DeepLines or AQWA)
- Develop and review global dynamic models for offshore systems including cables, umbilicals, risers and subsea structures
- Interpret analysis results to guide engineering decisions and influence product configuration and performance
- Support concept development through to detailed design, qualification and manufacture of offshore hardware
- Produce high-quality technical reports documenting modelling assumptions, results and engineering justification
- Provide technical input to bids, proposals and project delivery activities
- Contribute to the development of internal analysis methods, modelling standards and engineering tools
- Support and mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical capability development within the team
- Work closely with project engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to ensure analysis supports practical delivery of engineered products
- Carry out structural checks and support FEA activities where required
You will hold a degree in Mechanical, Structural, Naval Architecture or a related engineering discipline and have strong experience applying OrcaFlex or equivalent software to the analysis of offshore systems such as cables, flexible risers, moorings, installation configurations or subsea structures. You will be comfortable working at a system level, understanding how dynamic behaviour influences engineering decisions and product performance in real offshore environments. A background in contributing to modelling strategy, reviewing analysis work or supporting less experienced engineers would be advantageous. Experience with CAD (Inventor preferred), fatigue assessment approaches and installation-stage modelling would also be beneficial but are not essential.
